Position Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Alexandria, VA (mostly remote)
Clearance: DOD Secret Required

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support software deployment and infrastructure operations across a range of mission-critical federal programs and R&D initiatives. This role involves managing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-based deployments in secure environments.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, collaborative, and passionate about delivering impactful solutions in support of defense and national security missions. You’ll work closely with engineers, security professionals, and technical stakeholders to build, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient systems.
Responsibilities:
- Own CI/CD pipeline management, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies across classified and non-classified environments.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Containerize services using Docker and deploy them via orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or ECS.
- Manage secure networking, certificate handling, reverse proxies (e.g., NGINX), and system hardening.
- Deploy into secure cloud environments (e.g., AWS SC2S, Azure Government Cloud) in coordination with compliance and security teams.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across development, staging, and production environments.
- Build and manage observability pipelines (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) and log aggregation tools.
- Support vulnerability scanning, patch management, and OPSEC as required.
- Write deployment documentation, system runbooks, and automate operational tasks.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.
- Experience deploying services in secure/high-side environments (e.g., C2S, AC2SP).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Strong skills in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Cloud deployment experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferably in hardened or regulated environments).
- Solid Linux system administration and scripting experience (Bash, Python).
- Effective communicator and collaborator across multidisciplinary teams.
- Industry experience in defense, intelligence, or related sectors is a plus.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, MLOps, or integration with LLM systems (nice to have).
- Experience with STIG hardening, SCAP scanning, or enclave-specific constraints (nice to have).
- Strong understanding of software quality, security, and performance best practices.
- Must have active Secret Clearance
- Must pass Federal Background Check & Drug Screen
