- Schedules workers needed for different athletic functions.
- Receives visitors, ascertains purpose of visit, attends to visitors business or refers them to proper person or office.

- Provides superior clerical and stenographic assistance.
- Keeps informed on local and state laws, rules and regulations, and explains applicable regulations and policies to appropriate persons.
- Reviews incoming and outgoing correspondence, memoranda, reports and similar materials for the purpose of summarizing and/or referring to proper persons.
- Prepares correspondence, memoranda, forms, requisitions and other records.
- Maintains all sales records in an auditable manner.
- Performs necessary accounting functions such as simple statement analysis, appropriate records for executives, banking operations, bookkeeping systems, etc.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Athletic Secretary is expected to function in the greatest assistance that can be provided to relieve the administrator of paperwork permitting maximum attention to be devoted to education and
educational administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
TEA certification requirements
High School Graduate or GED
Ability to type and operate a calculator
Ability to meet the public in a pleasant composed and cordial manner, and to speak clearly and effectively
Thorough knowledge of modern business practices and procedures and of business English, spelling and commercial terminology
Knowledge of the operations, functions, and general scope of school administration and school board operations.
Ability to handle delegated administrative details, to receive and dispose of complaints and other matters
Ability to write clear and concise memoranda, directives or letters without close supervision
Ability to carry out instructions and develop comprehensive plans with minimum supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with all district employees as well as the general public
