What will your work involve?
- Participate in strategic planning and implementation for Human Resource initiatives with a focus on benefits, total rewards, timelines, budgets, communication, and results tracking.
- Administer Benefits related policies and procedures, assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with policies and guidelines.
- Provides administration and management of EMF benefit plans and programs. Provides a high level of customer service to staff regarding benefits and other HR initiatives. Demonstrates pro-activeness in communication; anticipates problems, employee concerns and questions; and delivers exceptional follow through with issue resolution.
- Leads open enrollment activities, in partnership with leader. These activities include project planning, system and vendor updates and revisions and communications. Partners and provides reports and input into analysis for benefits review and open enrollment. Assists in developing processes and communication pieces, and takes ownership for accurate tracking and reporting for open enrollment and overall benefits enrollment/terminations/changes throughout the year. In addition, this position plays an active role in the coordination, execution, and evaluation of open enrollment, serving as the main point of contact for vendors and staff.
- Maintains communication and relationships with broker team, Third Party Administrator (TPA), and Vendor Account Managers, etc.
- Research methods and makes recommendations as needed to improve benefits package, total rewards and cost containment strategies.
- Processes all benefits paperwork and documentation. Interacts with appropriate vendors and providers, ensuring accurate internal processing of information in HRIS systems and appropriate filing and reporting.
- Responsible for system support and accuracy in HR transactional processes. Maintain data integrity and documentation in personnel files and core HR systems through pro-active means (audits, testing, etc.) and drive activities around compliance.
- Establishes and maintains familiarity with provisions of existing as well as new federal and state laws to help determine impact on benefit plans. Ensures legal compliance within benefit and other practices; maintains appropriate regulatory and legal compliance programs (COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125 and other federal and state regulations). Assists as appropriate with EEO and other reporting; and collects, prepares, comments/analyzes, and reports on HR Metrics within areas of responsibility.
- Proactively engages with staff answering benefits related questions and concerns. Demonstrates a positive connection with staff members, as the first point of contact for benefits related matters - elevating issues as appropriate.
- Works with Sr. HR Operations Manager and CPO on special assignments and partners with Human Resources team on special projects.

- 5 years of experience/knowledge of Human Resources with expertise in benefits administration and HIPAA laws.
- General understanding of comprehensive and typical benefit plans offered by healthcare, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental insurance carriers.
- Experience and knowledge of COBRA.
- Experience and expertise in open enrollment processes (communication pieces, organization, tracking systems, reporting, etc.)
- HR experience within a multi-state environment and 300 staff (ministry environment preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment with confidential information.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred).
- Solid understanding of state, federal, and local employment laws and regulations including EEOC and OSHA (as needed).
- Demonstrated successful project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Business focused with a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines; excellent attention to detail and exceptional follow through.
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, within and outside the ministry.
- Proven ability to work as part of a high customer service, fun, and performance-oriented team.
- High degree of initiative; strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Navigation).
