What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) position at El Campo Memorial Hospital?
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director, the MLT/MT is responsible for providing efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory to provide quality patient care services.
Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
MT/MLT preferred ASCP/AMT/ AAB registered, experience preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, and Limited Microbiology.
Work Schedule:
Mid-Shift and Night-Shift available!!!
7 on, 7 off , must be able to work alone, phlebotomy is a must. The position will also be responsible for maintenance and quality control.
This department provides coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week including weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 8-12 hour shifts. Schedules and work shifts may be changed with respect to patient procedure demands. Depending on volume, staff may have the opportunity to float to other shifts or locations.
