AWS Cloud Security Specialist

**Hybrid: Charlotte, NC**

Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for an AWS Cloud Security Specialist to fill a 12 month W-2 contract position (with likely perm convesion) in Charlotte, NC. This position requires hybrid work with three days a week onsite. Candidates must be local to the Charlotte metro area.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W-2 basis and be eligible to convert to full-time employment without sponsorship or transfer. Rate: $63 – $67 w-2

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud infrastructure as the primary focus, with additional multi-cloud coverage across Azure and GCP.

• Ensure multi-cloud environments comply with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2.

• Monitor cloud platforms for unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and anomalies, and lead incident response efforts.

• Define, manage, and audit IAM roles, policies, and permissions to ensure least-privilege access across clouds.

• Perform cloud security assessments, penetration testing, and configuration audits across multi-cloud environments.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with AWS and working knowledge of Azure and GCP cloud security architectures.

• Hands-on expertise with cloud-native tools like AWS CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Azure Security Center, and GCP Security Command Center.

• Deep understanding of IAM principles and regulatory compliance standards across cloud platforms.

• Proven ability to identify and mitigate cloud-specific threats and lead response initiatives.

• Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional IT and cybersecurity teams.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
