Cloud Security Specialist / General

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Cloud Security Specialist / General with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.


Pay: $60.00 - $70.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description:
This role consults / designs, implements, and maintains security measures for cloud-hosted environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) to protect data, applications, and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include securing multi-cloud architectures, managing IAM, conducting vulnerability assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to security incidents.


Core Responsibilities

• Security Architecture & Design: Designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure, including firewalls, encryption, and network security.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensuring cloud environments comply with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2) and internal security policies.
• Threat Detection & Response: Monitoring cloud environments for unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, or anomalies, and leading incident response efforts.
• Identity & Access Management (IAM): Defining, managing, and auditing user access rights and policies to ensure least-privilege access.
• Risk Mitigation: Performing security assessments, penetration testing, and audits of existing cloud configurations.
• Collaboration: Fosters collaboration with IT and cybersecurity security teams to build transparency throughout the cloud lifecycle.
