WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Human Resources Generalist I is responsible for delivering world-class HR support to the HR Generalist II and to the organization. This position will undertake a wide range of HR tasks including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, employee recruitment and retention, and HR analytics. The HR Generalist I will work closely with the HR and leadership team of Elica, helping to drive HR initiatives and meet the organization’s goals, acting as both a change agent and a problem solver. The successful candidate provides excellent and timely customer service to all employees in alignment with Elica’s values of integrity, service, collaboration and respect.

Requirements
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provides day-to-day guidance to front line managers and other team members which may include policy interpretation and general guidance on any HR related policy or procedure to include, but not limited to FMLA/CFRA, FLSA, FEHA/ADA , etc.
- Assists with the management of the HR inbox, delegating incoming inquiries to the appropriate HR team member as needed
- Handles the leave administration process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Assist with the management of HR and employee data. Analyzes data to identify positive, neutral and negative trends. Solicit input from team members and recommend changes (what to start, stop, and continue) to improve the quality and timeliness of HR products and services.
- Provides general HR guidance to managers as needed
- Drafts and/or edits employee communications to ensure clarity, simplicity, and compliance
- Maintains excellent employee engagement by responding to questions, concerns and needs of employees and managers, and responding in a timely manner
- Administers various HR policies and procedures for the organization, assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, provides input
- Help to support the recruitment life cycle process for open positions, from headcount approval requests through final selection of candidates, working as a liaison between hiring managers, internal partners and candidates.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned
The successful candidate has/is:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in HR related field, HR certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience with a focus on multiple functions of Human Resources
- Proven knowledge of federal, state and local labor and employment laws
- A track record of establishing strong alliances with all levels of management while retaining independence of thought
- Experience working with multinational and culturally diverse workforce
- Experience with rapid growth and a changing work environment
- Experience with Community Healthcare Clinics or Healthcare preferred
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to help deliver ongoing developmental training that helps support individual employees and Elica’s organization goals.
- Proven team player, with the ability to work independently
- Service mentality; regularly seeks out and uses feedback to continuously improve
- Hands on approach; willingness to roll up their sleeves
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The work environment is characteristic of normal office conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Additional Requirements
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Salary : $25 - $31
