We have an excellent opportunity for a Shop Lead (machine shop) to join our team in Lawrenceville, GA. Our ideal candidate will have experience overseeing all operations and employees in the Fabrication Machine shop. This position reports to the Sr. Manufacturing Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth operations and timely processing of all parts based on demand
- Responsible for ensuring order and discipline in the shop
- Interface with shop employees and other leads on daily assignments and targets
- Assist and manage workflow in all aspects of the machine shop
- Assist machine operators with setups and operation when required
- Monitor and ensure the quality of parts produced by each operator and machine
- Train employees on the job as and when warranted
- Assist the Sr, Manufacturing Manager in ensuring that safety policies are implemented and followed
- Assist in troubleshooting maintenance issues
- Interface with Management, Administration, Lead Programmer & Quality Assurance on all production and quality issues
- Work on special projects for process and productivity improvement
- Assist in employee evaluation for review process
- All other duties as assigned
- Must be skilled in all aspects of setup, operation and preventative maintenance in a Machine Shop environment
- Must be able to read and interpret detailed drawings of machined parts
- Must be familiar with all of the basic inspection equipment micrometers, CMM, calipers, height gauge etc.
- Must have basic computer skills, word processing and spreadsheets (Word, Excel)
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Minimum five years related work experience
