POSITION TITLE: Front Desk Assistant
STATUS: Evening and weekend shifts
DEPARTMENT: Administration
SUMMARY: The individual in this position is primarily responsible for the delivery of
excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants of EmBe of
Sioux Falls. Front Desk is responsible for assisting in the
development and implementation of membership services and in marketing the EmBe’s
programs as directed. Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all
interactions.
Hours: Variable, rotating evenings and weekends
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for coordinating information, communications, and administrative
procedures for the EmBe front desk.
- Duties include daily cash receipt procedures, record keeping, and online registration for
- Good communication with all visitors and community partners.
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls and questions
- Monitor all public entering the building
- Learn and explain EmBe programs, policies, and procedures
- Register customers and clients for programs and process memberships according to
procedure
- Complete aquatics towel and childcare laundering within shift
- Receive customer/client comments and direct them to the appropriate staff person.
- Filing, maintenance of supplies and forms and general office management
- Conduct tours for new clients in the absence of wellness directors
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
- Previous receptionist/office support experience
- Knowledge and experience with a multi-line phone system
- Excellent oral and written communications, teamwork skills
- Previous customer service experience preferred. The person must be assertive and
demonstrate an energetic personality.
- Must have a willingness and desire to work with children and adults of all ages and
backgrounds and have a commitment to the values of the EmBe mission statement.
- Self-motivated team player, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and handle stress during busy work times.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
