We are seeking married couples to serve as Flex Houseparents, providing a warm, supportive, and stable home environment for groups of 8-12 students living on campus. This unique opportunity involves guiding and nurturing students through daily routines, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a family-like atmosphere. Initially, Flex Houseparents will rotate through various student homes before being assigned to a permanent residence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent care and supervision for a group of students within an on-campus home.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports students’ personal growth and development.
- Handle daily tasks such as transportation, medication administration, household budgeting, and incident reporting.
- Lead and encourage students in daily devotionals and accompany them to weekly chapel services, respecting the school’s faith-based traditions.
- Collaborate closely with school staff and support services to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Maintain compliance with campus policies, including safety and wellness standards.
Requirements
- Married couples with a legal marriage of at least two years.
- Both individuals aged 27 or older.
- Experience working with or volunteering for youth, preferably from under-resourced communities.
- Willingness and ability to reside on campus and commit to the live-in role.
- Ability to manage no more than three dependent children in the home alongside students.
- Valid U.S. driver’s licenses and readiness to become certified to drive campus vehicles.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a smoke-free, weapon-free, and alcohol-free environment while on duty.
- Compliance with pet restrictions: only fish and one approved dog breed allowed.
- Strong integrity and a dedication to serving as positive role models for youth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential youth care or similar roles.
- Comfort leading students in Judeo-Christian devotionals without proselytizing.
- Skills in household management and budgeting.
