Job Summary:
EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in Middle River, MD. The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR Site Lead and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment, well-kept grounds.
Primary responsibilities of this position are to be responsible for the maintenance of the client grounds. Landscaper may contain the following duties and responsibilities: Mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns, Weeding and mulching landscape beds, trimming small trees, hedges and shrubs, removing unwanted, dead or damaged trees, planting shrubs, flowers and trees, watering gardens, lawns and landscapes, monitoring and maintaining plant health.
Will assist vehicle mechanic in performing duties in the maintenance of fleet equipment/vehicles. Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to diagnose and correct deficiencies.
Additional skills in carpentry, light plumbing, painting, and grounds maintenance are a plus.
Computer aptitude is necessary to update files in the CMMS and order parts and equipment online.
Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 5 to 7 years of hands on experience in facilities maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain lawn equipment (tractors/mowers/trimmers) to cut/trim lawn areas
General maintenance skills to include carpentry, painting, plumbing. Ability to assist in repairs of general items as needed.
Maintain a strict PM schedule with daily input to update files into computerized recordkeeping systems utilizing Microsoft basic products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work request.
Daily repair and preventive maintenance of vehicle engines, heavy equipment, and small engine equipment such as push and riding mowers, electric golf carts and generators.

HS Diploma and
Trade School or
Union Apprenticeship
Business Experience
5-7 years of experience related to mechanical engine repair and maintenance.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid US driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain a “compliant status” within the Lockheed Martin background check. Must be a citizen or resident alien.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers and associates of organization.
Technical Qualifications & Skills
Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use is a must.
Must have the ability to operate lawn equipment to cut & trim lawn areas as well as operate snow removal equipment.
Responsible for providing support as directed in various other trades as necessary such as light painting, light carpentry, light plumbing, and grounds upkeep.
Organization skills to maintain the electronic computerized client facility maintenance records and reports.
Be proficient in vehicle engine repair, and small motor repair.
Prior schooling, training, and experience a beneficial.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Physical Demands:
The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift. Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and hot areas. We are also responsible for snow removal and there are times in the Winter season when most of the day is spent outdoors in cold/snow conditions. Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
