Emerald X is a leading operator of business-to-business trade shows in the United States. Leveraging our key market-driven platforms, we integrate live events, media content, industry insights, digital tools, data-focused solutions and e-commerce platforms into three complementary business lines – Connections, Content and Commerce. Emerald’s domestic and international product offerings are sold across several different billing systems and in numerous foreign currencies.
Emerald X is seeking a Cash Applications Manager who will be responsible for developing and managing customer and business-related cash posting and application processes across all billing platforms and revenue streams.
This position will report to the San Juan Capistrano, CA office (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Overall evaluation of current cash application processes, identification and implementation of process improvements
- Posting of payments to offset outstanding invoices in several Emerald billing platforms
- Posting of vendor commissions and other non-customer related receipts to the appropriate receivable balances
- Research and resolution of unidentified funds
- Development of process to remind customers who send payments without remittance information of Emerald’s remittance instructions
- Addressing over payments and notifying the collections team to initiate refunds
- Reconciliation of daily cash posting
- Credit card reconciliation
- Chargeback research and submission
- Weekly banking deposits as needed
- Working with various Emerald business units and new acquisitions to ensure seamless cash application processes are developed and followed
- Month end journal entries
- Assisting with internal and external audit requests related to cash receipts
Qualifications
- Previous multi-business unit, multi-billing platform cash applications experience required
- Previous entry level accounting experience required
- Previous experience in evaluating and improving process flows required
- Microsoft Office experience required specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Intermediate level Excel experience required
- Detail oriented, organized, and flexible
- Reliable independent worker with strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to use good judgement

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Compensation: $70,000-$80,000
Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
