Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic HR & Operations Manager who will function as the President’s right hand. This individual must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-hat environment, and can be trusted to manage both people and processes with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will not only have the technical HR expertise but also the charisma and leadership skills to build relationships quickly with both staff and clients.
This role combines strategic operations leadership with hands-on HR execution. You will implement, maintain, and optimize systems and procedures that support our team, enhance client satisfaction, and ensure compliance with employment law. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building infrastructure from scratch, driving engagement, and being a catalyst for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership
- Lead end-to-end employee lifecycle management: recruiting, onboarding, development, offboarding.
- Administer and continuously improve benefits, payroll, and performance systems.
- Develop and enforce HR policies that balance legal compliance with a supportive, inclusive culture.
- Proactively coach staff and leadership on people matters.
- Manage unemployment claims, employee relations, and conflict resolution effectively.
Operations & Administrative Management
- Serve as a central hub across departments to ensure seamless communication and accountability.
- Own internal processes and SOP development for HR, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and safety.
- Monitor and optimize the company’s HRIS and operations systems (e.g., Kronos, Excel).
- Implement project tracking tools and checklists to ensure follow-through and accountability.
Team Culture & Motivation
- Actively shape company culture by fostering morale, recognition, and communication practices.
- Be present, energetic, and visible—serve as a touchstone for employee support and client rapport.
- Develop and lead initiatives to retain top talent and support staff growth.
Client & Field Staff Coordination
- Develop relationships with clients to understand staffing needs and ensure alignment.
- Maintain strong communication with field employees to monitor job satisfaction and troubleshoot issues.
- Support field operations logistics, documentation, and compliance tracking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- At least 2 years in a human resources management role; operations experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a staffing agency or client-facing HR environment is a strong plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred due to the nature of our field workforce.
- Proficient in HRIS systems (Kronos ideal), Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment law.
- Experience managing employee benefits, including health plans and 401(k) enrollment.
