What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, Actuarial position at Encova Insurance?
Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Actuarial for our Columbus, Ohio office. This is a full-time summer internship for the 2024 summer and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need. You will have the option to work a hybrid schedule. Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
This role will report to the Manager, Corporate Actuarial.
Pay=$22.00 per hour

As an intern in our Actuarial division (reserving), you'll work side-by-side with experienced actuaries who will help translate your classroom knowledge into a strong, practical foundation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Strong mathematical and technical aptitude
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
* Sophomore and junior level candidates preferred
* One to two actuarial exams desired
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*Must have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university
*Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or data science
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be proficient in Microsoft applications
*Must be detailed oriented
*Good communication skills
