Senior Director, Facilities & Space Planning

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Space Planning to lead strategic space allocation, planning, and design within a large, dynamic healthcare organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of facilities, managing capital projects, and supporting organizational growth through thoughtful planning and design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee space planning, move coordination, and project design initiatives
• Manage space utilization data and planning tools (e.g., AutoCAD, hoteling platforms)
• Lead planning efforts for new construction, renovations, and space reallocations
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic real estate and facilities planning
• Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and design protocols
• Direct standards for furnishings, wayfinding, signage, and interior aesthetics
• Supervise project budgets, design timelines, and contract/vendor relationships
• Evaluate and respond to space planning requests across departments
• Contribute to long-range capital and campus master planning efforts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, management, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project and design management within a healthcare setting
• Experience managing large organizations and teams through direct reports
• Expertise in facility planning, healthcare design standards, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in planning software, space utilization reporting, and CAD tools
