Enthalpy Analytical is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group. Enthalpy is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, and soil testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
The LIMS Specialist plays a critical role in the implementation, improvement, and standardization of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) across the network of laboratories. This role blends technical expertise and independent problem-solving with a collaborative approach that values input from a wide range of stakeholders. Working closely with laboratory teams, quality assurance, and IT, the LIMS Specialist helps identify needs, streamline workflows, and deliver practical, high-quality system solutions.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working within structured processes while building strong working relationships. Success in this role comes from combining focused, task-driven execution with open communication and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Lead the implementation and support the ongoing use of LIMS by applying a solid understanding of laboratory practices, workflows, methods, and terminology to ensure solutions align with end-user needs and operational requirements.
- Perform system configurations, maintain and update Crystal Report templates, and develop new reports using SAP Crystal Reports.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and manage data from relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), demonstrating a solid understanding of database structures and relationships.
- Serve as liaison between laboratory staff and software developers to translate lab needs into technical solutions.
- Conduct in-person and remote training for both lab administrators and end users; develop standardized training content and delivery tools.
- Optimize laboratory workflows and automate processes to increase compliance, efficiency, and data quality.
- As required, support laboratory compliance with standards such as ISO 17025, TNI/NELAC, and state-specific administrative rules.
- Assist in beta testing and documentation for new LIMS features; contribute to product development with user feedback.
- Document project progress and manage tasks using project management tools.
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent degree in a related science.
- 5 years of LIMS implementation and support experience (Element LIMS experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of SAP Crystal Reports and SQL query development.
- Proven track record in training, project management, and cross-functional communication.
- Demonstrated experience of laboratory operations and regulatory compliance (ISO 17025, NELAC, or equivalent quality standards).
