What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving - 2nd Shift position at EPC Columbia?
Position Summary: Ensure all shipments are made in compliance with all customer requirements and shipment schedules. Ensure all finished goods are put away in designated storage locations in compliance with all internal processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pull, Stage, label, scan and load all assigned shipments utilizing appropriate Pick Lists and in compliance with FIFO and customer specific requirements
- Pull, stage and complete Small Lot orders as needed using specific process
- Pull, stage, label, scan and ship IPP parts as needed
- Accurately and fully complete Load Verification Form for every shipment
- Maintain gate keeping activities and ensure all finished goods are put away in the warehouse using FIFO and standard processes
- Ship trucks out of Plex and generate paperwork for drivers
- Coordinate material movement to/from QAH for sorting of suspect product
- Complete container splits, merges, container moves as required
- Ensure all partial containers are verified through QAH prior to shipment
- Periodically assist with unloading and receipt of empty returnable containers
- Create General Shippers as needed
- Complete Pass Thru for parts as needed
- Ensure safe processes are being used for docks
- Report any dock or trailer damages per process
- Participate in problem-solving and countermeasure implementation of interdepartmental issues
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
- Observe and practice all safety requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience:
- 3 years Receiving experience
- 3 Forklift operation experience
- 3 years experience with Keyence handheld scanners or similar equipment
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate a forklift
Work Environment and Physical & Mental Demands:
- Long periods at a desk answering the phone and performing computer work, including keyboarding for long periods
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled plant areas and climate-controlled office areas
- Ability to be exposed to noisy plant areas and forklift traffic and occasionally work from outside and from heights
- Manual dexterity to handle, feel, etc.; frequently required to climb and/or balance, stand, walk reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure
- Ability to work flexible schedules and work overtime as needed and on short notice
