The Business Development Manager is a hybrid position, with a strong preference for candidates to commit to Mondays and Tuesdays in-office (Andover, MA).

The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive, client-focused professional to strengthen ESAI’s commercial and operational functions. This person will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, managing renewals, and supporting new business outreach. The role bridges customer success, sales operations, and marketing, and offers long-term growth potential within our team.
This is a great leadership opportunity for somebody looking to take ownership of an entire customer success function. You will work hand-in-hand with analysts, business development, and leadership to craft winning strategies for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
-Client Renewals & Growth
- Serve as a primary contact for existing clients, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction
- Manage renewal communications, negotiate terms, and coordinate invoicing with our bookkeeper
- Keep clients informed of new insights, reports, and company updates
- Support client outreach and communications on behalf of senior leadership
- Prospect into existing accounts to grow our footprint across our client base
-Marketing and Communications Support
- Assist with client communications, newsletters, and marketing materials
- Coordinate client events, webinars, or presentations as needed
- Ensure consistent messaging and professional presentation across all client touchpoints
-Operational Support
- Support the President with general operations beyond bookkeeper & office manager’s remit
- Assist with internal coordination, reporting, and process improvements
-Lead Generation and Business Development
- Assist with business development campaigns in tandem with our new business team
Who We're Looking For:
- A self-starter who brings ideas to the table
- Proactive bridge between our clients and our analytical team – extremely important!
- Willing to travel globally semi-annually to meet with clients
- Demonstrate curiosity experience in data, energy markets, and/or consulting services.
About You
- 3 to 7 years of experience in client relations, customer success, or commercial operations
- Background in an analytical, research, or B2B services environment– ideally in energy, commodities, data, or consulting
- Skilled in Salesforce and ZoomInfo (or similar tools) with a strong understanding of lead and account management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach
- Highly reliable, energetic, and eager to take ownership in a small, high-impact team
- Must be based in the Boston area and available to work in the office regularly
