Our Health Center Manger will manage, supervise, and coordinate the clinical operations at health center site by performing the primary duties and responsibilities listed below. Responsible, in collaboration with Senior Director of Operations Clinical Services and Chief Medical Officer, for meeting clinical quality and safety standards. Responsible for ensuring that site operations are aligned with Esperanza's strategic vision. Serves as resource in resolving difficult problems, patient and/or service complaints. Adheres to budget, policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for all provider support staff such as Medical Assistants (MAs),Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) and Referral Coordinators which includes (but not limited to), compliance with all approved policies and procedures, staff development, maintaining updated employee files all in compliance with regulatory agencies. Orient new staff and assure that training and education needs of staff are met.
- Ensures staff schedules are posted in a timely manner. Responsible for finding coverage when MAs call in sick or request an emergency day off. Ensures orientation/training, evaluates the performance and when necessary, disciplines, documents and discharges staff with approval of COO . Assists in resolving difficult employee relations issues.
- Responsible for the completion of mandatory communicable disease reporting to the Department of Public Health and other agencies as well as all other mandatory reporting requirements.
- Ensures medical supply inventory is appropriate at all time and exam rooms are being set up in accordance with requirements of providers. Orders or directs ordering of drugs, solutions and equipment and maintains records as required.
- Develops and implements the health center Emergency Preparedness (EP) Plan in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer. Responsible for educating all staff on EP procedure.
- Oversees lab vendor on site for CLIA compliance and customer service. Responsible for Health Center performed Point of Care Testing including quality assurance and staff training staff to properly perform POCT and QA in compliance with all standards.
- Works collaboratively with the Outreach Coordinator to increase community awareness of the services offered by the health center. Required to participate in health center events on-site and outside of health center, must be available for weekend events as assigned. Required to make presentations at various events.
- Implements procedures to ensure continuity of care issues (i.e. follow up of positive HCG's, PAP smears, return OB appointment, positive PPD etc.).
- Observes MA care and visits patients to ensure that MA care is carried out as directed and treatment are administered in accordance with physician instructions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health care related field, or HS/GED equivalent with Medical Assistant Training or Equivalent of 5 years in a health care setting
- Excellent human relations and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership in organizational development
- Experience in high volume of indigent care and managed care in ambulatory care setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish, required
