The Merchandising Operations Intern will assist the Merchandising Operations Team with various tasks related to collections moving through the development process. This is a full-time paid onsite internship with the reporting location based out of Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
Work will include functions within Merchandising Operations Team as needed as our collections move through the development process, assisting with:
- Sample logistics within our gown development program.
- Check in factory and store shipments.
- Ensure samples are prepped and shipped out, meeting deadlines to arrive at stores/photoshoots/influencers.
- Create shipping labels, gown tags and barcodes.
- Assist in first sample checks reviewing beading, color and accessory.
- Sample inventory management.
- Ensure the sample inventory is kept organized and always updated.
- Complete inventory and inventory report to ensure all samples are accounted for.
- Follow-up on missing gowns or accessories and place orders for items as needed.
- Product presentation session preparation.
- Assist in steaming gowns, dressing mannequins or models for internal events.
- Weekly style reporting.
- Create spreadsheets and PDFs weekly to assist sales reps attending weekend trunk shows each week.
- Collection approval and launch deliverables creation and review.
- Update image boards weekly as style updates are made.
- Create and assist in the reviews of selling season documentation working closely with other teams such as Marketing, Events and Sales.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate of a college-level Fashion Program.
- Elevated attention to detail & deadline oriented.
- Working knowledge of Excel and other Office programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest in learning across the varied aspects of design development that are required to bring gowns to market.
- Ability to take direction and partner with others in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and time manage when tasked with multiple things.
- Must be able to place gowns on rolling racks and frequently push and pull racks into the appropriate position.
