Solid-State/Physical Chemist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Physical measurements on samples to support chemical process and pharmaceutical formulation development
• Data processing, interpretation and documentation
• Calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Laboratory support activities including weekly eye-wash checks, shipping, and chemical inventory.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Experience with physical characterization techniques such as X-ray powder diffraction, thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry and themogravimetric analysis), vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman), dynamic vapor sorption analysis and/or microscopy
• Experience with powder characterization techniques to measure particle size, powder flow, and surface area.
• Experience with laboratory automation tools
• Experience with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
• Ability to multi-task and be self motivated
• Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision

  Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other related discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience OR a Master's Degree.

This position is Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rahway NJ are encouraged to apply.
