Come and join our dynamic and diverse team in this seasonal role! Our Archery Instructor will create and teach a curriculum for children, aged from 6 to 15. You will be responsible for teaching the fundamentals of archery while keeping it fun, diverse, educational, and age-appropriate. You will be responsible for running activity periods for groups of around 10-20 children at a time, assisted by 1 or 2 of their counselors. The Archery Instructor position is perfectly suited to a student or teacher who has some archery experience, or even just an interest in the sport. We will provide free Archery Instructor certification and training for the right candidate. The upkeep and basic maintenance of the archery equipment are also part of the job. You will be supported by a supervisor, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the summer.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
An enthusiastic, motivated, warm, friendly, caring individual.
The ability to communicate, through patience and clarity, with children and co-workers.
The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate archery fundamentals and techniques (training to be provided).
Must have completed high school (or equivalent) by the summer.
DATES, HOURS AND PAY
8:30am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day)
June 26th to Aug 25th (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 18th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed.
Mon to Fri each week except for July 4th when we are closed.
Salary range is $4250 for 9 weeks of work.
As a specialist, you are required to be part of our arrivals and departures team. This adds an extra $660 to your base salary for the summer!
LOCATION
Sharon, MA but with free bus transportation from all over MA!
Housing is NOT included.
Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis.
