We are a fast growing Pulmonary group in search of a Medical Assistant. The position does require some travel between Dallas/Desoto/Bedford/Grapevine/Irving on a needed basis only, but home location would be Desoto/Dallas.

Provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards, practices and office policies. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients with any medical needs during and after a doctor's visit. Works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or office supervisor.

Job Summary:
Provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards, practices and office policies. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients with any medical needs during and after a doctor's visit. Works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or office supervisor.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all related reports are available to the physician prior to the patient's appointment. You must work on a schedule 2-3wks ahead.
- Assist physician or nurse practitioner in the exam room.
- Triage patients (i.e. chief complaint, review & update medication list and vital signs)
- Administer injections (IM and SQ) Pneumonia, Influenza, Tuberculin, Fasenra, Xolair & Nucala).
- Instruct patients on proper use of inhalers
- Perform PFT/Spirometry, 6 Minute Walk tests and Oxygen application
- Schedule testing and procedures(EBUS/Bronch/Biopsy)
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, radiology & procedures
- Send out DME orders & complete CMNs
- Maintain all logs up to date (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, expired medications and sample cabinet)
- Take/Respond in a timely manner to phone messages from patients, physicians and pharmacy calls.
- Sanitize exam rooms after every patient.
- Stock rooms with supplies at the end of the day.
- Travel to other clinic locations when needed
- Must have at least 2 year of experience in a medical office setting.
