Job Summary:

Provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards, practices and office policies. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients with any medical needs during and after a doctor's visit. Works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or office supervisor.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all related reports are available to the physician prior to the patient's appointment. You must work on a schedule 2-3wks ahead.
  • Assist physician or nurse practitioner in the exam room.
  • Triage patients (i.e. chief complaint, review & update medication list and vital signs)
  • Administer injections (IM and SQ) Pneumonia, Influenza, Tuberculin, Fasenra, Xolair & Nucala).
  • Instruct patients on proper use of inhalers
  • Perform PFT/Spirometry, 6 Minute Walk tests and Oxygen application
  • Schedule testing and procedures(EBUS/Bronch/Biopsy)
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, radiology & procedures
  • Send out DME orders & complete CMNs
  • Maintain all logs up to date (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, expired medications and sample cabinet)
  • Take/Respond in a timely manner to phone messages from patients, physicians and pharmacy calls.
  • Sanitize exam rooms after every patient.
  • Stock rooms with supplies at the end of the day.
  • Travel to other clinic locations when needed

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Self motivated
  • Willing to learn new procedures and advance knowledge
  • Able to adapt to ongoing changes
  • Able to multitask
  • Dependable
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
