What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Analyst position at Excelligence Learning Corporation?
The Inventory Analyst assists the Discount School Supply purchasing and inventory planning team from creating accurate demand plans to issuing purchase orders to final point of sale. The goal of this role is to influence the team to perform these activities with optimal inventory levels, while providing high service levels to our customers. Purchasing and Inventory management spans across seasonal, inline, and one-time-buy programs.
This position is responsible for influencing correct inventory quantities are on hand at the fulfillment center to support online and sales team demand and merchandising objectives. Forecast accuracy at a SKU and category level is critical.
Primary Functions
- Support multiple Purchasing Managers to ensure division metrics are compliant by providing weekly performance scorecards.
- Track, share, and influence the reduction of overstock inventory.
- Measure demand plan accuracy and ensure accuracy gaps are narrowed.
- Publish weekly inventory glidepaths looking into the future and point out upcoming service gaps.
- Monitor service level metrics to ensure they are meeting division expectations.
- Track and share inventory levels to ensure they are compliant with monthly Budget.
- Direct kitting team to maintain high service within the kitting department.
- Publish supplier metrics regularly to internal and external stakeholders to assist in increasing the compliance of supplier lead times.
- Create plans that show projected upcoming inventory levels.
- Regularly publish a proposed supply plan for Foreign and Domestic purchase orders, based on demand plan, current inventory position, safety stock, and lead time inputs.
- Maintain high item data integrity within databases.
- Ensure items with inventory on hand are sellable to customers.
- Actively create and lead special projects that drive growth opportunities.
- Ad hoc reporting with quick turnaround while ensuring data accuracy.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university and/or 2 years inventory management experience
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with databases and spreadsheets with ability to create tools in Excel to analyze and correct business opportunities.
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
