Self-Direction DSP - Baldwinsville Area (Job #ES-KT)
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work WEEKENDS... Saturdays 4pm to 10pm and Sunday 8am to 4pm and 4pm to 10pm shifts. Being available for other days/times to serve as backup staff is a huge plus.
Hiring for Back Up Staffing: Everyday 8am to 4pm and 4pm to 10pm, applicants don't have to be available for all shifts, but the evening shift and weekends shifts are the highest need. In this role you will be trained and be added to her list of back up staff and will be called when an open shift is available.
She is a college educated woman in the Riverknoll Apartments in the Baldwinsville area. She uses a wheelchair and requires total assistance with activities of daily life due to a physical disability. The individual is looking for dedicated staff to assist her with maintaining her independence both at home and in the community. Some responsibilities include... assisting with Personal Care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and taking her to some medical appointments (as needed). She enjoys people watching at the park and being by the lake.
She is a HUGE Syracuse Orange fan who has a knack for creative writing, enjoys adult coloring books, using her IPAD, going to the Casino, watching sports and the food channel, surfing the internet, listening to the radio, researching new recipes to try and baking cupcakes. She has an indoor cat that lives with her.
She and her staff will provide new hires with training shifts on transfers using an electric sit-to-stand/track system. New hires must have a driver's license, as you will be driving her specialized modified minivan.
Evening shifts are pretty quiet, plenty of down time as she goes to bed around 7pm... DSP can watch TV, read, bring computer etc...
The current pay rate is $19.50 per hour... pending Self Direction Budget approval from the state $20.25.
Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
