Our client, a well-respected civil construction and engineering firm, is looking for a Survey Project Manager to work out of their office in Melville, NY.The ideal candidate has prior experience as not just a Land Surveyor but also a manager, who is interested in long term high-level growth opportunities within a company.Job OverviewThe work includes boundary, topographic, hydrographic, point cloud, as-builts, construction layout, etc. The work will be for municipalities, land developers, contractors, builders, etc.Responsibilities:• Leading the management and training of junior staff.• Project proposals and project financial management.• Coordination between clients and contractors• Handling both billing and collections needs for projects.• Running and supervising multiple field crews and projects.• Overseeing all field operations.• Managing survey schedule and subcontractors.• Managing and maintaining surveying and machine control equipment.• Write and/or review drafting and CAD file production, draft survey maps, proposals, written descriptions, and miscellaneous reports.• Data collection via reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs. Research into deeds, maps, and other historical information as needed.• Other duties as needed.Requirements:• 5-7 years minimum experience in land surveying. Experience must be relevant to listed project types above, and in a commercial or municipal sector.• 3-5 years experience managing teams.• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field preferred, additional work experience taken into consideration as replacement.• Experience with the following software: AutoCAD, Civil3D, Carlson Survey, Microstation, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office• Experience with RTK GPS, laser scanning, 1” robotic total stations, digital levels, drones• Professional Land Surveyor License or ability to obtain• Valid Driver's License• Good verbal communication, written communication, and organizational skillsCompensation:•Salary: 80k-150k• Health, paid time off, work life balance, 401K, and other benefits. • Extensive learning and educational work environment with strong day to day mentorship as well as formal training opportunities.Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to commute to our Melville office for this on-site position (non-remote).
