Lettershop Bindery Operator
About The Role
As a Lettershop Bindery Operator, you will play a key role in the production process by operating and maintaining Lettershop Bindery equipment. This position requires operational and mechanical expertise, a focus on quality and efficiency, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies in the printing industry. Success in this role demands a strong work ethic, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Operate Lettershop Bindery equipment, including but not limited to knife cutters, shrink wrap machines, drills, book stitchers, Printronix printers, folders, and padding tools.
- Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all Bindery machinery.
- Ensure production meets company standards for quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including work orders, production logs, and LOGIC entries.
- Adhere to all safety and attendance policies.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical or operational issues with Bindery equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Operational and mechanical aptitude for Bindery machinery.
- Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including work orders.
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as rulers, gauges, and meters.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on routine and complex tasks.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and normal color vision (or correctable to 20/20).
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and processes in the printing industry.
