As a Performance Manager you will be a key member of the service delivery team working to ensure that the team has the capabilities, resources, and capacity to deliver a world class service. This role leads a team of full and part time practitioners across multiple locations and partners closely with the operational teams to ensure services are effectively resourced.
Job Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leader: Encourages directs to be confident in their decisions. Works for the team, not the other way around; empowers the team with relevant resources and capabilities needed for success. Guides team towards solution and remains calm while navigating through ambiguous situations; helps others handle complexity. Is a courageous people manager by providing specific and timely feedback (positive and constructive) as needed. Removes obstacles for your staff, communicates issues and trends upward as appropriate, finds ways to continuously innovate and improve yourself and your management skills. Doesn’t let performance issues escalate. Figures out how to hire the best and the brightest, and hire and promote based on merit.
- Talent Developer - Recruit, train, develop and manage teammates to ensure that facilities/sites are adequately staffed at all times and succession plans are appropriately maintained for client needs. Assess all team members progress continually; coach team members with positive reinforcement, and create training and development plans to fill forecast capability needs.
- Collaborator: Partner with key stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and efficacy of programming, improve the engagement of classes, and meet service level expectations. Execute administrative duties to ensure timeliness of operations (approving hours, handling payment discrepancies, ensuring accurate data collection, and managing customer service escalations).
- Organizer: Maintains a high degree of organizational skills to execute tasks with direction, in a timely manner, and at a high level of quality. Maintains strong attention to detail as scope and complexity of responsibilities expands, using previous learnings to minimize mistakes.
- Problem Solver: Uses critical thinking to gain actionable insights by providing interpretation and analysis from both data and research. Evaluates multiple solutions and consistently applies understanding of key stakeholder perspectives to the decision making process.
- Communicator: Effectively communicates team vision across varied audiences by tailoring both written and verbal communication style to adapt approach for appropriate audiences; ability to clearly convey complicated concepts & strategies to others.
- Risk Mitigator: Takes initiative and ownership in removing roadblocks and making thoughtful decisions and/or escalations amid ambiguity and shifting priorities. Anticipates and manages shifting priorities and leads others to overcome roadblocks and adapt to change.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

- You’ve earned a bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science or related degree
- You’ve earned a relevant certification, preferably NSCA-CSCS, NASM or ACSM
- You have a minimum of 3 years professional industry related experience
- You have a minimum of 3 years professional experience managing teams, projects, or programs
- You have a strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting
- You have experience analyzing data to prioritize and make informed programmatic decisions.
