M Health Fairview Woodwinds is now hiring for our PeriOp RN Training program.
The Fairview Perioperative 101 Nurse Education program is learner centered and structured to provide specialized skills (circulate and scrub in cases) and knowledge in Perioperative nursing for a licensed RN. We use curriculum created by AORN and learning modules presented through lectures, demonstrations and videos. Learning is reinforced in the lab and clinical setting. The classroom didactic, hands-on lab experiences and clinical practicum take place at a Fairview location. The method of evaluation will include chapter post-tests, final examination, skill demonstrations and preceptor observation in the clinical setting. Provides continuing education contact hours after successful completion.
This position requires a one year work committment.
We are hiring for a Perioperative 101 RN, who after training/education is complete will work at Woodwinds Hospital on the day/evening shift
Responsibilities Job Description
- The orientation consists of rotations through the above services with experienced preceptors.
Date: Program begins on September 30th and will continue for approximately four (4) months.
Days/Hours: Training will take place Monday through Friday, hours will vary. This training program is full-time (80 hours per two-week pay period) for the duration of the program. The position after training is at Woodwinds Hospital and is full time and will require rotating weekend, holiday and call hours
The Operating Room RN provides services as a circulating nurse and is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for the patient undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A current Minnesota RN license by start date.
- Current BLS certification with American Heart Association or American Red Cross as a Health Care Provider required at the time of application.
- Must have a strong desire/career goal to work as a RN in the Operating Room environment.
- Current Fairview employees must have been in their current position for a minimum for 6 months and performance in previous/current Fairview jobs will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN, BAN, Master’s degree in nursing or higher
- Previous experience in acute care nursing RN, surgical tech/technologist or as a anesthesia aide.
- Completion of a perioperative nursing course at a community or technical college.
- One year of nursing experience
