GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Family Advocate handles recruitment and enrollment for the classrooms. He/she assist teachers by providing needed information such as screening results, family needs, etc. on each child. Establishes and maintains complete, up-to-date, accurate child/family records. Attends A-team meetings and staffing as needed. Works with parents/teaching staff to ensure the completion of dental & physical exams within the required period. Follow-up as necessary to ensure children receive proper immunizations after enrollment is completed. Makes scheduled home visits with parents as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Family Services Advocate: Must possess High School Diploma or GED;
AA degree in Human Services, Sociology,
Social Work, or Psychology preferred
Prefer Family Service Credential with some experience in working with young children and families. An AA degree in Social Services Education is preferred. Must have working knowledge of computers and ability to learn ChildPlus. A current physical, TB screening or chest X-Ray are required prior to working with children. Applicants should list bilingual skills if applicable. Family Resource Agency is a drug-free workplace. EOE.
