GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Client Service Specialist determines program eligibility, provides excellent client service, and issues eWIC benefits to eligible individuals.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Certification and Enrollment of Clients
· Check-in clients per clinic procedure.
· Assess identification/residency/income eligibility and obtain demographic information for each client.
· Explain WIC rights and responsibilities to each client.
· Complete the clerical portion of the certification process.
· Support and assist the Senior Client Service Specialist in the performance of their duties as requested.
Client Services
· Perform phone duties and other office tasks.
· Issue eWIC cards and PIN.
· Schedule appointments.
· Complete satellite clinic duties.
· Promote breastfeeding.
· Make referrals and document them in Journey.
· Be knowledgeable about WIC food packages.
· Support Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program by referring relevant participants.
Record Keeping and documentation
· Maintain accurate records and documentation.
· Organize and maintain work areas and program supplies.
· Complete state WIC Personal Activity (PAR) timesheet.
Agency Involvement and Professional Growth
· Participate in agency Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) process as requested.
· Participate in agency committees as requested.
· Participate in staff and agency meetings as requested.
· Demonstrate professional growth.
· Participate in outreach activities as requested.
Interpersonal Relationships
· Maintain a positive respectful demeanor in all contacts with clients, visitors, and staff.
· Consult with Program Coordinator for guidance in handling difficult client situations and to establish priorities for the job.
· Work to build positive productive relationships with other staff.
· Work for others as needed to cover PTO.
· Support training clinic by promoting a positive learning environment.
