Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.
Our Residential Treatment Program is recruiting a full-time Food Service Specialist to work in our full service kitchen, serving youth ages 10-17 who are struggling due to serious mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The Food Services Specialist is responsible for the food preparation for the program in accordance within all applicable Federal, State, and County regulations as well as program/agency policies and procedures. Duties include: Designing and implementing a healthy, nutritious and appealing menu for our children and staff; Meal preparation for approximately 20 people for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with 2 snacks per day; Ordering supplies; Maintaining kitchen cleanliness; Occasional special event catering within the agency.
Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma/GED and the minimum of one year of experience working in the food service industry. Preferred candidates will have an associate's degree in culinary arts.
The schedule for this position is on a two-week rotation & will involve working every other weekend. The kitchen is staffed 6 am-6pm.
