What You'll Do
As a member of our Group Staff, you'll help facilitate an entertaining and educational experience for school groups from across Delmarva that visit our family farm. Students, teachers and parents arrive at our farm and are split into manageably-sized groups. These groups then visit different stations including (Corn maze, U-Play and more). Your role is to assure a safe, organized, fun and rewarding experience to all who visit.
Requirements
- Friendly, courteous, and engaging individuals. You must enjoy customer service and have good communication skills. This job requires constant, clear and professional communication with customers, students and colleagues.
- Staff members must have the heart of a teacher.
- Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to: greeting school groups as they arrive, organizing groups, leading groups, educating groups, cleaning, organizing, set up, clean up.
- You have an eye for detail and enjoy organizing and making your work area a little better each day.
- Willingness to learn product details and educate visitors effectively. (examples: how the corn maze works, how a pumpkin grows, why honey bees are important, etc.)
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required due to a high level of customer and employee interaction.
- Time management and multitasking skills
- Highly self-motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times
- Very flexible and open-minded. You may perform numerous types of tasks within the course of the same day.
- A teaching or education background is preferred.
- Must be able to address customer concerns in a professional, courteous manner
Physical Requirements
- Requires standing, walking, bending, stacking and lifting throughout the work day.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Requires working outdoors and in all types of weather elements. You may be working in very cold and very hot conditions.
- Smoking is not permitted on our farm campus.
- This job reports to the our Group Coordinator.
