Who We Are Looking For
Our Organizational Development Specialist position requires a proficiency in behavioral systems analysis, process improvement, and performance management. The individual in this role will be responsible for initiatives that aim to further align various areas within the organization and improve both collaboration and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate success in active listening and prioritizing multiple critical deliverables simultaneously, in addition to possessing proven experience in each of the areas listed in the next section.
What It Takes (some or all)
- Ability to analyze and assess organizational systems using behavioral science principles to optimize performance and align objectives throughout the organizational
- Proven experience in analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and applying process improvement methodologies to improve productivity and foster collaboration
- Experience with process mapping software and adhering to mapping standards
- Expertise in designing and implementing performance management strategies including feedback delivery and employee development
- Familiarity with SMART goals and facilitating goal alignment across teams and individuals
- Knowledge of principles and methodology for curriculum and training design (for individuals and groups) and the measurement of training effects
- Capacity to manage multiple critical deliverables at the same time
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options, prioritize, and implement solutions
- Capacity to give full attention to what other people are saying, understand the points being made, and ask questions as appropriate
What YOU Will Be Doing
Change Management/Continuous Improvement
- Conduct assessment of organizational needs, culture, and processes to identify areas for improvement and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize, design, and implement change management initiatives to support business goals.
- Advance initiatives by leveraging prior efforts, involving the appropriate stakeholders, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to ensure transparency, consistency, alignment, and engagement across the organization throughout the change process.
- Anticipate and evaluate impacts of organizational change to effectively guide teams, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Broadly support the organization through periods of growth, transformation, or restructuring and improve the likelihood of adoption.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in organizational development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by assessing and refining current processes, programs, and initiatives.
Organizational Structure
- Work with leadership to assess and redefine organizational structures to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and communication.
- Align teams, departments, and reporting structures with the company’s strategic goals.
- Implement initiatives that break down silos and promote cross-functional collaboration for innovation.
- Facilitate team-building initiatives and support conflict resolution.
- Conduct job analyses and facilitate role clarification workshops to ensure clarity and alignment of expectations within departments and across the organization.
- Partner with leadership to clearly define and document roles, responsibilities, and expectations to set the foundation for selection and performance management.
- Assess roles to enhance job satisfaction by ensuring they align with employee strengths and interests.
- Support the development of clear career progression pathways that are aligned with company growth and employee development opportunities.
Process Improvement
- Conduct process assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to streamline operations.
- Design, implement, and optimize organizational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across teams.
- Lead process mapping and process re-engineering initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of process improvements, making adjustments as necessary to ensure sustained effectiveness.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of process changes on organizational goals.
Learning and Development
- Create a learning culture that supports skill development, innovation, and knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Support the creation of effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are successfully integrated and aligned with company goals.
- Develop and execute programs aimed at building leadership capabilities at all levels of the organization.
- Oversee training sessions, workshops, and seminars on leadership, communication, team-building, technical skills, and other key areas to address identified skill gaps.
- Provide training and support to leaders and teams in adopting new processes and best practices.
Performance Management
- Work with leaders to design and optimize performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback, and development programs.
Selection and Placement
- Collaborate with the recruiter, HR, and leaders to ensure a streamlined, effective selection process that aligns with organizational needs and culture.
- Analyze workforce capabilities and align them with business needs to ensure optimal staffing levels and skill sets.
Culture and Engagement
- Create programs that enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
