This position is eligible to participate in the Flexible Work Program, which allows eligible employees to perform their job duties from a designated alternative location up to two days per week.
SALARY DETAILS:
$81,276 - $94,254 annually based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $101,501 after employment with Oakland Schools.
Exempt / 12-month work year.
WHAT WE NEED:
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day supervision for assigned HR staff, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluation, and disciplinary processes as needed.
- Lead the planning, development, and facilitation of professional development programs, including leadership development, compliance training, and job-specific skill building.
- Lead Oakland Schools' training and development strategy, overseeing the design and implementation of learning programs aligned with organizational priorities.
- Direct the onboarding experience to ensure new hires are integrated effectively and supported from day one through targeted training and support.
- Direct and oversee organizational committees.
- Support the continuous improvement of the HR Leadership Academy (HRLA), including logistics, content alignment, cohort experience, and stakeholder engagement.
- Direct and manage the Oakland Schools’ performance management system for represented and non-represented employees..
- Develop, write and edit deliverables for learning initiatives, leveraging learning design.
- Develop, analyze, and design a variety of learning materials and approaches for adult learners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts on learning solutions.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; or other equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
- Program and project management expertise required.
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and/or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certificates preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in training, professional development, or organizational development, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated leadership in a complex HR environment, preferably in education, government, or public service sectors.
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and training evaluation tools.
