Under general supervision: Fulfill or resolve network request or trouble call and complete required documentation (i.e., trouble ticket, network access request, Service Request, etc.). Understand and follow directions and adhere to policies and procedures (i.e., SOX, IT governance, audit, etc.).
Under limited supervision: Lead and coordinate network projects (i.e., firewall, core router/switch, protocols, security, etc.). Work with users and vendors to resolve network connectivity or capacity issues. Capable of recommending and implementing cost reduction solution (i.e., streamline process, reduce or maintain risk, etc.). Support critical bank network equipment or complex system (i.e., firewall, core router/switch, protocols, security, etc.).
The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.
- Minimum 3 years of data/voice telecommunication or network security experience (i.e., installation, repair, troubleshooting, etc.) or comparable experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS or Computer Science required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to setup and configure network devices (i.e., router, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection system, cables, etc.).
- Knowledge of network device troubleshooting and installation.
- Hardware installation and removal.
- Operating system installation, reload, applying security patches, etc.
- Establishing network connection.
- Installing and configuring security system.
- Held either a team lead role within the IT industry, preferably in the network support area.
- Working knowledge of project management concepts.
- Requirements gathering.
- Resource planning.
- Identify financial cost.
- Development and testing.
- Status reporting.
- Post mortem.
- Etc.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting with cross network equipment, firewall, core network equipment or bridging protocols.
