What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Coordinator position at Five Rivers MetroParks?
Assists the Market Manager in coordinating the development and implementation of promotions, programs and events to increase vendor sales, Market revenue, Market attendance and overall community awareness of the Market. Provide day-to-day support to the Market operations.

- Provides customer service to vendors and customers participating in the selling and buying of farm-raised produce, other food items, prepared foods, artisan wares, and other items. In concert with Market Manager, responds to concerns and complaints of vendors, customers, staff and public in a timely and productive manner.
- Work independently and as a team with other Market staff in developing and implementing programs, plans, promotions and activities designed to increase Market attendance and vendor sales and/or to educate the public about the benefits of supporting local vendors and making healthy, sustainable lifestyle choices in correlation with MetroParks' mission.
- As market outreach representative, generates interest and support for the market. Plans and implements market promotions, public relations efforts, and social and electronic media promotional initiatives in coordination with the Marketing Department.
- Opens and closes the Market on days as assigned.
- Performs various administrative and clerical tasks such as maintaining attendance records and other back office duties in support of the market.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive records and information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
- Provides service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, and providing information.
- Collaborates internally, within and across departmental boundaries, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.
- Assists, and serves in the absence of, the Market Manager in overseeing day-to-day operation of the Market.
- Makes presentations to groups and gives tours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

A combination of appropriate education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
- Associate's degree in business, marketing, communications or closely related field, and one year experience in customer service in a retail setting.
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.

The employee is frequently exposed to working conditions typical of an office environment, and is regularly exposed to conditions of the market including the outdoors.
