We have a team of master plumbers, HVAC technicians, and master electricians available around the clock with emergency repair services throughout our three major metro areas.

Five Star Home Services is seeking a dynamic and results driven Residential HVAC Sale Professional to join our sales team. We have openings in each of our markets. Please note, the Cincinnati and Dayton markets will be a combine territory while Columbus will be its' own.

SUMMARY:
HVAC Salespeople impact a company by building a positive customer relationship, developing new accounts, closing deals, and ensuring repeat business from existing clients. A typical workday in an HVAC sales life starts with making cold calls, holding meetings with contractors, and going to trade shows. An HVAC Salesperson’s primary responsibility involves developing new accounts while recognizing the customer’s needs and satisfying those needs. HVAC company salespeople are a crucial representation of the company and must obtain the skills to listen to customer needs and meet those needs to satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing a sales territory for services and/or products.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
  • Estimating, bidding, and negotiating projects.
  • Performing heat loss and heat gain load calculations.
  • Laying out and designing HVAC systems.
  • Generating new customer leads.
  • Establish customer rapport with products and services.
  • Forming a positive relationship with all customers.
  • Recommending and selling heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning products to leads and current customers.
  • Facilitate post-sale transitions with installation managers and installers.
  • Follow-up on existing sales bids and leads.
  • Participate in training on the latest industry technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school or equivalent (GED (General Education Degree)).
  • At least two years of sales experience required.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Customer Service -
    Customer service is the ability to provide excellent customer service to clients. This skill is important for HVAC salespeople because they need to be able to build relationships with their clients and provide them with the information, they need to make informed decisions about their HVAC systems.
  • Communication- Communication is key in any sales position, but especially in HVAC sales. You need to be able to clearly explain the benefits of your product or service to potential customers and answer any questions they may have. Excellent communication skills will help you build relationships with customers and close more sales.
  • Negotiation- Negotiation is a key skill for HVAC salespeople, as it allows them to reach agreements with customers that are beneficial for both parties. By being able to negotiate effectively, HVAC salespeople can ensure that they are able to get the best possible price for their products and services, and that their customers are happy with the outcome.
  • Organization- Organization is key in any sales position, but it is especially important in HVAC sales. This is because the HVAC industry is overly complex, with a lot of products and services to keep track of. An organized salesperson will be able to keep track of all the various products and services, as well as their prices and features. They will also be able to keep track of the competition and their prices. This will allow them to better serve their customers and close more sales.
  • Time Management- Time management is a critical skill for HVAC salespeople because they often must juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Time management skills help salespeople prioritize their tasks, use their time efficiently, and avoid procrastination.
  • Product Knowledge - Product knowledge is important for HVAC salespeople because they need to be able to explain the features and benefits of the products they are selling. They also need to be able to answer questions from potential customers about the products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing this job's duties, the Residential Sales Professional will be required to visually inspect all residential homes areas, including attic spaces, crawlspaces and exterior of the structure. This may require the use of step ladders and occasionally lifting more than 20lbs.

Use of sight, touch and hearing senses will be required including but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and sense of touch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing this job's duties, Residential Sales Professionals are exposed to weather conditions as well as exposure to dusty and confining areas of a home for short periods of time. Noise levels in the work environment are usually minimal.

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate on various jobsites. Due to exposure to machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working.
