Safety and Compliance Specialist will implement, manage and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements. They will train new teammates on safety procedures and equipment operation. They will evaluate the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. In additional they will ensure the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. They will be responsible for collecting data and reports on all safety and accident events as well as near misses. They will be responsible for identifying corrective action for future accident and near misses and prevention.
Job Description
- Implement, manage, and monitor safety programs that meet OSHA requirements
- Train new Teammates on safety procedures and equipment operation
- Evaluate the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions
- Ensure the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures
- Responsible for collecting data and reports on all safety and accident events as well as near misses
- Identify corrective action for future accident and near misses and prevention.
- Performs safety, sanitation, and security self-audits
- Accountable for Creating a Safe Workplace
- Any other duties as required
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- BA or BS degree strongly encouraged
- 2 years of warehouse safety experience preferred
- English / Spanish bilingual strongly preferred
- OSHA 10/30 hr. and/or OSHA General Duty courses preferred
- OSHA, EPA, and Code of Federal Regulations Knowledge
- Food safety knowledge and handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work and think in a fast-paced, cold warehouse environment
- Ensure compliance with regulations & requirements
