What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fuel Safety Compliance Director position at Lewis & Raulerson Carrier Group?
Lewis and Raulerson is seeking a highly organized and proactive Fuel Safety Compliance Director to oversee and ensure the safety and compliance of our fuel transportation operations according to all local and federal regulations. This includes developing and implementing safety programs, conducting audits, managing driver training, and investigating accidents to prevent future incidents. Responsible for driver training and skill assessment to include on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, and maintaining compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. The position assists in ensuring we maintain our reputable safety scores. The position will also be responsible for maintaining compliant files and records and efficient use of Hours of Service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DOT regulations, hazardous materials, driver safety and fleet oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive truck and driver records
- Participate in the hiring and termination of drivers
- Monitor driver hours of service and onboard video recordings
- Conduct monthly safety meetings in Waycross, Thomasville, Albany and Jacksonville
- Inspect equipment and manage driver supply inventory
- Install and maintain truck cameras and GPS systems
- Conduct warehouse safety inspections
- Manage the DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Train drivers on drug/alcohol awareness, defensive driving and Hazmat procedures
- Ride along with drivers and trainees to evaluate delivery process and driving performance
- Oversee pre and post trip driver vehicle inspections
- Administer road tests for all new driving applicants
- Ensure organizational compliance with DOT & FMCSA regulations and insurance standards
This is a full time salaried position subject to a background check, MVR check and pre-employment drug screen.
