Maintaining and building productive relationships with carriers is how we can be successful in serving our clients' insurance needs. FNIC is looking to add an experienced Marketing Specialist to assist Producers in writing new business and retaining renewal business for accounts in our Commercial department. This person will need to negotiate pricing, and policy conditions and terms in a fast paced environment for accounts greater than $30,000 in premium.
What’s the work like?
You will...
- Review new and renewal business applications with producers for accurate completion of coverage areas, market identification and submission requirements
- Organize and submit applications in a professional manner to carrier partners
- Be proficient on underwriting and rating platforms as required for department needs
- Negotiate pricing, policy conditions and terms with insurance companies
- Analyze carrier options prior to proposing coverage for pricing and coverage accuracy
- Prepare proposals, bind accounts, update and complete all areas of agency management system and documentation per agency guidelines for moving the account to the Account Manager
- Present professional and accurate insurance submissions to the insurance carriers and negotiate to secure coverages as requested that best meet the client’s needs
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of information
- Maintain and file all documentation in the agency management system per the agency guidelines for timeframes, placement and description, Maintain the electronic account file and fully incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow
- Keep abreast of industry and market trends as well as carrier appetites, as well as serve as a resource to other staff members in these areas
- Develop productive and professional carrier relationships with carrier partners, which may include both internal and external meetings as well as other networking or social events
- Understanding of Excess & Surplus lines markets and other broker/specialty markets.
- Follow agency and department procedures as outlined
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of highly sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI)

- valid Driver’s License
- Resident Property and Casualty Agent’s license
- AAI or other similar designation
- CIC or CPCU designation or willingness to pursue
- High school diploma or equivalent
- three (3) to five (5) years of commercial Property/Casualty insurance experience
