Since 1981, Food Finders Food Bank, Inc. has been the leading hunger-relief organization for North Central Indiana. The food bank distributes more than 13 million pounds of food annually to Hoosiers through the combined efforts of direct and indirect service programs.
Most recently, our team has been charting a path toward ending hunger long term. Through Resource Coordination, Food Finders works to help clients increase their self-sufficiency with the goal of achieving and maintaining food security.
We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working in a high-paced environment, can work well within a team but also independently, & passionate about our ending hunger work to join our Resource Coordination team. This position will work one on one with our clients to identify and remove barriers to their self-sufficiency.
Areas of Responsibility:
Client Engagement and Advocacy
· Demonstrate compassion and patience while working with neighbors on their path to self-sufficiency.
· Advocate on behalf of neighbors when services are denied, providing support and guidance.
· Be available to meet with pantry clients, even after hours, to facilitate resource access.
Resource Coordination and Program Implementation
· Make referrals to outside organizations for clients based on individual needs, addressing areas such as food, utility assistance, public assistance, housing, education/training, employment, mental and physical health, transportation, and child care.
· Inform and register neighbors for all eligible public assistance programs, including SNAP, TANF, and WIC.
· Implement and document all aspects of the Resource Coordination Program, including recruitment, meetings, surveying, and follow-up to chart self-sufficiency successes.
SNAP Outreach and Capacity Building
· Identify, screen, and submit applications for clients eligible for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
· Conduct SNAP Outreach activities in assigned counties within the FFFB service area, increasing capacity and reach.
· Identify collaborative opportunities and foster partnerships with network members, local community organizations, lawmakers, businesses, USDA, and other stakeholder groups engaged or interested in SNAP outreach.
Reporting and Grant Compliance
· Provide statistics and reports as directed for FFFB grants and reporting needs.
· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all program activities, including resource coordination and SNAP outreach.
Collaborate with the team to meet grant compliance requirements and contribute to the organization's success in obtaining funding

Education, Licensing, or Certification Requirements:
· A bachelor's degree in a related field (such as nonprofit management, social work, or logistics) is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
