FORWARD SERVICE CORPORATION (FSC) UPWARD BOUND PROGRAMS
Upward Bound Summer Program
A five-week position supervising and mentoring high school students, plus two in-service/training days. Working days will be as follows:
Training (June 18-20): Full-day training at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (overnight accommodations provided)
- (June 25-28): Staff will live on campus at UWEC and supervise students
- (July 8-12 & July 15-19): Staff will live on campus at UW-Madison and supervise students
- (July 23-26): Trip to various locations and campuses in WI, MN and IA. Staff will stay overnight in hotels on the route and supervise students during the trip
Compensation:
- Total of $3,000 plus an additional $100 for each returning year. Maximum pay of
$3,500. Payment is paid in two installments: half mid-program and half at end.

What you get to do:
- Supervise, guide, tutor, and mentor students
- Supervise recreation, program activities and meals
- Rotating night supervision
- Assist in the development and implementation of activities in the residence unit
- Chaperone one-day and multi-day field trips
- Prepare reports on academics, student behavior, meals, and accidents
- Participate in training and other staff meetings
Qualifications:
- As of June 2024, must be at least sophomore status with at least one year of experience at a postsecondary education institution with a GPA of at least 2.75
- Have a high level of maturity, adaptability, ability to work on a team, self-disciplined
- Have familiarity with and sensitivity to the needs of adolescents
- Have strong leadership skills, highly accountable, and be reliable
- Can work with minimal supervision
- Hold a valid driver’s license
