This professional position is responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Risk Management. The Assistant Director is responsible for the management of the County’s safety and loss prevention program as well as the administration of the County’s self-insurance commercial insurance policies, including but not limited to general liability, auto and property, cyber, medical professional, crime and fiduciary, pollution, flood, and drone policies, as well as the self-insured workers’ compensation program. The Assistant Director provides a risk management perspective on the County’s activities, including assisting in the creation or revision of programs, policies, and procedures. Supervision is given to professional and administrative staff; supervision is received from the Director of Risk Management.
NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate.
