Efficient supervision of maintenance employees and the repair of fleet, maintenance, cleaning, and of facility.
- Continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, employee development, and high training and safety standards
- Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines and objectives
- Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements
- Oversee all maintenance and compliance records using Fleet Management software
- Optimize fleet program to improve PM completion rates and drive down total cost of ownership
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, purchasing and disposal of vehicles and certain mobile equipment
- Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
- Coordinate annual DOT inspections on all required units
- Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets
- Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met
- Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained
- Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized
- Complies with and ensures adherence to standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
- Assists in budget process as required
- Maintain DOT compliance and regulations for vehicles
- Manage staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management
- Cultivate and manage vendor relationships at various maintenance shops, dealers, parts suppliers, etc
- Resolve all safety issues and provide emergency response as needed that arise from customers and employees
- Conduct safety training, testing, and record-keeping for all employees
- Maintain inventory of owned and rented equipment
- Monitor GPS and Dashcam programs to ensure hardware is installed and functioning properly
- Promote and reinforce positive safety culture through frequent interactions with personnel at all levels
- Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
- 3 years relevant work experience developing, implementing and managing fleet programs
- Must have knowledge of the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, small equipment and tools, trucks, and company vehicles
- Knowledge and application of OSHA Haz Com; OSHA Lock Out Tag Out; and OSHA Fire Protection regulations
- Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures, including budgeting, planning, personnel management, inventory control and records management
- Knowledge of DOT & FMCSA regulations
- High level of analytical skill to develop a range of possible solutions to address a wide range of issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, colleagues and managers
- Fuel Management or experience with/knowledge of similar technology
- Must possess good leadership qualities
- Ability to work various shifts as required by workload and staffing, including assisting with repairs due to staffing shortages
- Ability to train, motivate and coach team
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
- Must possess own hand tools
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75-100 pounds
- Exposure to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.)

- Travel to job sites as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited automotive college or technical school
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) highly preferred
