Description
Job Summary:
The surgical recovery assistant’s primary responsibility is providing patient advocacy and highest quality of care immediately following oral surgery
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Standard evaluation of patient at the start and end of surgery
- Monitor patient while under effects of general anesthesia
- Regular check of patient vitals and accurately documenting charts
- Escalate complex issues to patient’s surgeon
- Review discharge instructions with patients/authorized family members
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A good understanding of surgical techniques, chairside responsibilities, and health and safety protocols.
- An excellent understanding of dental records, charts, and documentation.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
- Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for up to 8 hours at a time
- Lifting up to 15 pounds at times.
