QA Specialist SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The QA Specialist is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all documentations. The person will inspect the final product and WIP to make sure it has been built with compliance to legal standards and meets customer expectations. In the meantime, the person will provide the support and be a liaison between the production and management. A great QA Specialist is thorough and observant with an eye for detail.
Essential Job Duties:
- · Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal Audits, ISO 9001, HACCP, Food Safety Training and regulatory/legal requirements.
- · Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
- · Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
- · Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products
- . Work with customers, employees, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements
- . Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
- · Oversee and conduct product recalls.
- · Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
- · Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.

- · Devising and reviewing specifications for products or processes
- · Setting requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitoring their compliance
- · Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards

- · Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives

Qualifications:
Associates degree in related field preferred
At least 2 years quality control management or customer audit experience needed
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, computers and attending meetings, going out to the production floor and warehouse to inspect product, etc.), is required.
Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common.
