What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fulton County Treasurer position at Fulton County Fiscal Court?
NOTICE OF POSITION AVAILABLE
The Fulton County Fiscal Court is seeking a person to fill the vacancy of Fulton County Treasurer pending the retirement of the current Treasurer. The candidate must have the following basic qualifications:
1. Have bookkeeping experience working with multi-department organizations with complexity similar to county government.
2. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
3. Ability to work with other county departments in a fair and harmonious way.
4. High proficiency with computer skills in accounting software and data entry.
5. Experience working with complex payroll including managing attendance records, health insurance and retirement accounts as well as remitting and reporting payroll information to federal, state and local taxing agencies.
6. Communication skills sufficient to work with multiple external organizations doing business with the county.
7. A degree in accounting or related field is preferred but not required. The county will consider applicants that have proven related experience that would assure the applicant has the capacity to perform the duties required on this position.
The Fiscal Court proposes to have the selected candidate commence work on or about April 15, 2023 and work with the current Treasurer, County Judge, Fiscal Court and CPA Consultant in a training environment for a period of approximately six months before assuming full Treasurer responsibilities.
