Senior Product Development Engineer
Our Billerica, MA area client is an established manufacturer specializing in heat mitigation solutions for medical devices, aerospace industries, data centers, and renewable energy including extreme temperature applications. Recent expansion requires a proactive, results-driven professional to join the Engineering team for new business development, product innovation, and technical documentation oversight.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead conceptual design and development of next-generation products • Review customer specifications and industry standards for compliance • Validate drawing packages, manufacturing approaches, GD&T, and cost analysis • Develop manufacturing processes including tooling, routing, and work instructions • Design machining, brazing, welding, and testing fixtures • Analyze inspection data (CMM, test results) and process ECNs/DMRs/MRB requests • Conduct failure analyses and implement corrective actions • Develop cost estimates for new product quotations and lead cost reduction initiatives • Guide cross-functional project teams and R&D efforts • Mentor engineering staff and designers • Ensure timely product launches through documentation release and production support
Essential Qualifications:
- 5 years manufacturing engineering experience with hands-on new product introduction, design, and production background
- Direct, hands-on expertise in machining operations (CNC machining), tooling development, brazing processes, and/or gas tungsten arc welding assemblies – critical manufacturing processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proactive approach to team/project management
Compensation:
- Base salary: $110,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with education and experience) • Annual bonus potential: 5% plus generous corporate benefits.
